8" x 8"

Barb Jackson Gallery of Rockport, Maine has invited me to be the guest artist for the month of August.  This unique boutique gallery is located at the head of historic Rockport Harbor on 22 Central Street, just down the street from the Center for Maine Contemporary Arts. I am very excited about this opportunity to show my work for the first time in my home state.

Last week I dropped off 12 new paintings, all oil on panel, ranging in sizes 8" x 8" to 18" x 18".  This new work is a series of semi-abstractions of the Maine coastline, from Pemaquid to Stonington,  where I have been painting these past several weeks.  The new work will be on view starting Friday, August 1st, until Sunday, August 31st.

If you are in the area please stop in at 22 Central Street.  Rockport is just north of Rockland.  Next week, on Thursday, August 7th, the gallery is hosting an artist reception from 5-7 PM.  I will be there and am looking forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones.  Please join me for a festive event!

The gallery hours are Tuesday to Saturday 12 - 5 PM.  For more information please contact me or call 207-542-6873.

For the past few weeks I have been trying out many new studios.  These new places have either been down by the rocks and sea or in the woods of Maine.  I have been off the grid awhile - at the end of June and a few weeks in July - not online, nor the cell phone or doing much else but painting daily.  I am excited about a new body of work I will be showing soon.

In the meantime here are some images of my different studios around the coast of Maine.  New work to be posted shortly!

This last image is my favorite as I had two guardians keeping watch over my stuff and keeping me company.  They were also visiting, returning to this place they have come to for the last 30 years.
