Red Slip # 3 will shortly travel to a new home.  This is watercolor on 30 x 22 inch, 300 lb paper and part of my Slip series.  The painting is a favorite of my husband.  Of course he is my biggest fan..thankfully!  You can see more of this series on my website where I have work on both paper and canvas in this series.

My painting, Central Park, recently sold and is now with new owners.  This painting is watercolor, India ink and gesso on 300 lb paper, 30 x 22 inches.  It is framed with thick (6-ply) and wide (4 inches) archival mat and backing board in a matte black Nielsen frame.

This work has been at Now Design Studios in Acton, MA.  They have promoted my work for the last few years and I am very appreciative of their support.  Central Park has long been a favorite painting of mine.  It is a very special place as I spent many weekends and evenings there when I lived in New York City.

Circle in the Square # 2

These are three more of the my 20 Circle in the Square paintings.  And these three are part of the nine paintings in the art swap with my artist coaching group that I wrote about in yesterday's blog.

Circle in the Square # 4

Circle in the Square # 5

I need to do some color correcting of these images as the panel surface is white but on my monitor here its not looking so vibrant.  I also need to do a better job cropping.  Will try and improve the next ones before tomorrow's posting.

20 8 x 8 inch panels

These past few weeks I have been working on a panel project.  I prepped 20 panels all 8 x 8 inches of 1'' - 1-1/2" depth.  I placed these in a large circle on canvas on the floor.  Each day I would step inside the circle and draw a circle in black, white or red Golden Acrylic Fluid paint.

several days later

Some days the individual panels would be turned 45 or 90 degrees before I "drew" the next circle.   Each circle became very wonky because I was moving clockwise as I pour the paint.  The panels were then left to dry for 24 hours before the next color was added.

8" x 8"

After several days I picked my favorite of 9 panels.  These became part of an art swap with my artist coaching group.  I missed the fun evening of the actual swap.  So I am really looking forward to seeing the work created by the other fabulously talented artists members also working in an 8 x 8 format.  And I am very fortunate to soon own a work by each one of these artists.

In the next few days I will post some of the other panels created and swapped.

10" x 10" oil/panel

These three flower paintings were just shipped to Hope Gallery on Thursday.  And this is the third grouping of flower paintings the gallery has received since February.  I started painting flowers this winter, setting up colorful bouquets in the studio while that cold season and a cool spring kept its grip.   Now temperatures are warming.  Color is bursting outdoors.  The landscape calls  - I am ready to be outside painting.  On rainy days though, the bouquets, in the studio, will still be fun to explore with paint.

This has been a crazy week - a real production of getting that long "to do" list accomplished.  I framed, photographed and mailed three new paintings to Hope Gallery (more on that later).  Got 8 paintings finished, now framed and photographed to be delivered to Rocky Neck Gallery - opening soon. Prepped several new panels (8 x 8's and 10 x 10's, so glad they are small ones) with 6 coats of gesso and sanded between each layer.  And finally finished my new 8 x 8 panel project of 20 panels, now photographed and ready to deliver 9 of them. (more on that later too!) Plus I received an email saying a painting has sold at Now Design Studios in Acton!  It has been a productive week.
