FIX IT?

Secondary Roads
mixed media on paper
22 x 30
While spending two weeks in Pemaquid, ME in June, working on my Journeys Series I created this painting Secondary Roads.  Unfortunately it was damaged in the trip home.  It stuck to another painting and when I tried to separate them the paint lifted off at the upper middle edge.  Now it needs repairing... though I have discovered, countless times, I never actually fix a painting - I just transform it.  Still wish me luck!

SHOWING ELSEWHERE

St Albans

For the month of August these two paintings are now out of the state with one even west of the Mississippi River and the other outside New England!  St Albans above, from my Journeys Series, is in the “Map It,” National Juried Show at the Riversides Arts Center in Ypsilanti, MI.  This show runs from August 1 until the 24th.

Slip # 10,from my Slip Series, is in the 16th Annual Open ISAP International Exhibit in Paso Robles, CA.  This exhibit opened on the same day as the “Map It,” show and runs until September 2nd.  And this show is available to see online.  I love having my paintings exhibited in other parts of the country.

LEGEND

LEGEND
mixed media/paper
22 x 30

This is another painting, recently finished, that is part of my Journeys series.  The title for the new work comes from what the old road maps used reveals.  If one looks closely one might see part of the word Legend on the middle blue section.  The new work will soon to be on my website - once I get organized!

MAP IT

St. Albans
mixed media/paper
30 x 22
I just shipped this painting, St Albans,  to Ypsilanti, Michigan, for a national juried show called "Map It," at the Riverside Arts Center."  My friend Kate, who I met in Taos, NM this year at ISS told me about this show and she too had work accepted. 58 artists from 28 states are represented.  The show opens August 1st until the 24th.  A reception will be held on Saturday, August 3rd.  After that event the exhibit will be available online.

Shipping this painting was quite an adventure and more on that later.  This painting is very recent and part of my Journeys series.  It is mixed media on 300 lb cold press paper consisting of an old road map of Vermont collaged on the paper, watercolor, acrylic mediums and oils.  I have several new paintings in this series that will be up on my website soon.

NEW HOME

SLIP # 7
acrylic/canvas
18 x 18

Both of my Slip paintings shown here were recently purchased from the Rocky Neck Gallery and have a new home in New York state.  These are my favorites from my Slip Series.  Slip # 7 is an award winner for "most experimental,' in last year's 15th Annual ISAP Open International Exhibit juried by Katherine Lui in Paso Robles, CA.  Slip # 5 was accepted into this year's 5th Annual ISAP Open International Online Exhibition juried by Skip Lawrence.  It is very exciting to see one's work leave the gallery and be welcomed into a new home.  Thank you new owner!  To see more of my Slip paintings on canvas please visit my website.
